Stay Energetic In Office

Nowadays, women have more responsibilities than earlier days. They have to maintain their family and also have to earn for their family. Women are supposed to take care of all the family needs. But due to lack of time, they are not taking care of themselves. Only if a woman is healthy and happy that the family will also be healthy and happy. She should master the art of balancing her family and work life.

Follow these 10 simple life hacks to stay energetic in office.

1. Get Up Early

Getting up early will give you more time and energy. Start your day pleasantly by spending some time in your prayers, doing yoga, listening to music, having your cup of hot coffee and get refreshed. Plan your day with a to-do list and mark your priorities. This will help you finish your work on time with zero tension. Personal Tip: When I was working earlier, I had the policy of not bringing my college work home. This spared me a lot more quality family time. I would plan the next day’s cooking in the night itself and get up mostly at 4.30 am. After completing prayer and yoga, I would start cooking while listening to my favorite songs on radio. And I am proud that so far my son has not missed his school bus.

2. Don’t Skip Your Breakfast

Breakfast will provide you the necessary energy for the day. Skipping your breakfast may lead to ulcer problems. Homemade healthy breakfasts are always a better choice. Personal Tip: I usually have only homemade healthy breakfasts. I add fruit juices to my family members’ breakfasts. Milk is very essential for women as it provides Calcium. So I drink two cups of milk daily. Healthy snacks like peanut chikki, corn mixture are my choice.

3. Distance Matters

Distance is a crucial factor for working women. By planning, you can avoid the difficulty of wasting more time in travelling. You can shift your house nearer to your office. This will really help you mentally and physically. Personal Tip: When I got married, I was working in Kovilpatti and my husband was working in Tuticorin. We discussed and decided to settle in Kovilpatti so that I could avoid the burden of travelling. My husband used to travel one and half hours every day for his work. This improved our relationship a lot in the earlier days. I was grateful to him for his understanding.

4. Declutter Your Table

Pleasant ambience at your workplace will certainly help in your performance. Pleasant ambience mainly depends on your work table. Organized table will provide you more positive energy and more time for fruitful work. Smart work is always better than hard work. So declutter your table often and organize it properly. Personal Tip: I always had all necessary stationery at my table. Frequently, I would clear the table. I had separate folders and organizers to organize different documents. I would keep some inspiring posters and calendars at my table. I had the habit of changing these posters weekly. I loved my workplace as my worship place.

5. Short Coffee Break

Whether you love coffee or not, short coffee breaks are very much needed for your refreshment. You can just walk to the cafeteria and meet your friends. Your casual chit chat will give you a boost in the middle of the work day. Your interdepartmental relationship will improve. Just make sure the coffee breaks are short coffee breaks only. Personal Tip: We would have our general meeting at the cafeteria once in a while. We also had working lunch on Saturdays. This gave us an opportunity to know about our peers well.

6. Relax, Refresh and Rejoice

Follow these 3 R’s during your lunch break. Relax, Refresh and Rejoice. Have your lunch with your friends. Crack some silly jokes and laugh a lot. Share healthy food with your friends. After lunch, go for a 10 minutes walk or do some simple exercises to get refreshed. Enjoy your work and happiness is guaranteed. Personal Tip: I always had my lunch with four friends. We talked about our day at home and office. We exchanged our lunch boxes. After lunch, I would get refreshed by reading some magazines.

7. Power Nap

While handling the pressure at work, a power nap at lunch break is not a big mistake. Now, many MNCs have a separate cubicle for their employees to take a power nap. As its name suggests, a short nap of 10 minutes will provide you with more power to work and relaxes your mind better. Personal Tip: Usually I relaxed myself at my desk by closing my eyes for some time, when needed. I would wash my face often. I went to the library and read books in my free time.

8. Relax Your Eyes

You will most likely feel tired when your eyes get tired. Follow this simple 20:20:20 rule for relaxing your eyes. Look at some objects 20 feet away for 20 seconds after every 20 minutes. By looking at natural scenery, your eyes will get relaxed. Personal Tip: I always wore anti glare specs while working on laptop and maintained good posture. I would look into the green garden through the window frequently.

9. Stretch Out

Do some stretches to keep your body physically sound. Learn some simple eye and hand exercises. This will relieve you from disturbing pains. Relaxation and stretching will boost your performance. Personal Tip: I would stand and walk during work. I really appreciate offices that provide their employees with ergonomic furniture.

10. Be Positive Always

Nothing under the sky is a problem. Keep your positive spirit flag flying high. Get constructive feedback from your friends. Aim for higher chances. Maintain a good relationship with your superiors and also with your subordinates. Positive mental attitude will make you tension free. Personal Tip: I always like to seek the help from my friends during tough times. I also welcome any positive criticism. I look for some learning in every new venture. I used to volunteer myself for any challenging assignments.
