I’m Perfect For My Child

There is this video that has gone viral on Facebook.

Here it is.

A New Perspective For Moms from Elevation Church on Vimeo.

And (for once) I would say, Thank God everyone shared this video, because it made me feel amazing about being a mom, again. As someone said “We focus on the negatives, and it is nice to know that my child views me differently than I view myself… and that is inspiring.

Moms across the globe have one thing in common, all of us stress a lot and aim for perfection when it comes to parenting. You might be the most carefree person with the ‘I care a damn’ attitude, but once you become a mom… it changes in a second. I have this mom group on Facebook which has all new moms on it, and I see them struggling everyday. They struggle for the smallest of things. Food, milestones, potty training, sleeping, s/he is not at all attached to her/his dad, s/he just cling on to her/his dad, when they are around… the list goes on and on.

Now I have almost become an experienced mom, with a 3 year old. OK, not experienced but, I’m definitely not a new mom. My worries have changed but I still get stressed… about school, tantrums, TV Time. Still I’m a lot better when I see other moms around me, I don’t stress as much (Woah… I’ve said it out loud). No, I’m not a supermom (and I don’t want to be one either). I just did couple of things, because stress was taking a toll on my health. I outlined things that I want to do and wouldn’t compromise on. I accepted the fact that Z is unique and so am I… and I started taking out time for myself. Believe me, I see a huge difference in what I was and what I’m.

When I get up in the morning, everyday… I say to myself “I know I’m not perfect, but I’m perfect for my child. Till the time Z is happy & heathy I don’t have much to worry about.” All of you out there are perfect for your babies. And I would like to end with a quote I have used again and again and again… “Each morning when you get up, look in the mirror… Smile and say… ‘I’m the best mom for XYZ’. Happy parenting!”
